Diploma In Community Health and Development
This course is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him/her identify current health and development problems in the community, plan, implement and evaluate community based health programmes and development project.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to;
- To carry out first aid effectively and efficiently.
- To initiate and organize HIV/AIDS prevention and control programmes in the community.
- To provide and promote home based care in a community.
- To organize and manage community health and development projects in a community.
- To carry out demonstrations of well protection and other ways of ensuring safe water supply in a community.
- To demonstrate to a community on the constructing of VIPs and other recommended excreta disposal system.
- To plan and implement safe waste management.
- To carry out community health education.
- To initiate vector control activities in a community to break the disease transmission route.
- To promote proper housing which should include proper construction ventilation and lighting
- To write funding proposals for community health and development projects
- To participate in immunization programs.
- To mobilize and organize use of community resources in healthcare.
- To carry out specialized and comprehensive counselling
- To promote MCH/FP activities in the community.
The relevance of the course is that it produces well trained and highly skilled personnel to develop and enlighten the community on health matters and development to facilitate economic growth.
It targets the students with a passion and ambition to develop and fully support community health and development issues.
Entry Requirements
A trainee entering the course should have any of the following minimum requirements:
- Passed relevant craft course.
OR
- Passed Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with an average grade of C- minus

- Equivalent qualifications as determined by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC)
Diploma In Community Development and Social Work
This course is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him/her to perform and manage development activities in the society.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to;
- Understand various intervention measures in solving social problems in a society.
- Use local resources to empower the societies in order to become self-reliant.
- Appreciate the role of communication in social work.
- Understand various methods and approaches used in social and community development activities.
- Appreciate the importance of involving other professionals in the development and solving social problems in a society.
- Promote ethical, legal practices and gender issues in appraising and solving social and development problems.
- Appreciate the importance of self-entrepreneurial skills in the national development.
- Equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitude to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other pandemics.
Training aims at producing equipped and skilled personnel, who will enlighten, educate and mobilize communities towards development and talent nature to improve communities’ development and economy of the nation.

Diploma In Nutrition and Dietetics
The aim of this course is to equip the trainee with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to enable him or her to perform duties and responsibilities of a Dietary Technician in an organization. A graduate of this course will be able to work in salaried or self-employment.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to;
- Provide nutrition and dietetics services in a range of settings including; community, health facilities, schools, churches, and general good will services.
- Educate consumers on relevant issues of nutrition and dietetics at community and family levels.
- Participate in the management of people with special needs and emerging issues including setting up appropriate interventions.
- Plan community nutrition and dietetics matters including setting up appropriate interventions in disasters and emergencies
- Collaborate with other agencies including government, NGO’S/FBO’S, public and private sector on matters related to nutrition and dietetics.
- Sensitize other professionals working in the community on nutrition and dietetics needs and advocate for appropriate actions.
- Assist in community and operational research and peep up to date with professional development.
- Assist in nutrition surveillance, monitoring and evaluation at community levels.
Entry Requirements
A trainee entering the course should have any of the following minimum requirements:
- KCSE aggregate Grade C- or its equivalent as ascertained by ministry of Education and KNDI. Mandatory subjects shall be D+ in English, Biology/Biological Sciences and Chemistry/Physical sciences. Additional subjects shall be D in any of the following subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Home science, Agriculture, General science.
OR
- Equivalent qualifications as determined by (KNEC) Kenya National Examinations Council.
Candidates holding certificate in relevant courses will be exempted Module 1 and be admitted to module 2.
Diploma In Analytical Chemistry
The aim of this course is to equip the trainee with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to enable him/her to work in any research institution and industries undertaking chemical analysis. The course is concerned with application of principles of analytical chemistry in operations and management of research and regular chemistry laboratories.
A graduate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Operation and management of chemistry laboratories.
- Ensure quality assurance practice in chemistry laboratories.
- Participate in research projects.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to;
- Comprehend physical, organic and inorganic chemistry principles for use in analytical chemistry.
- Use appropriate instruments to analyze chemical substances
- Apply different techniques for chemical and biochemical analysis
- Observe safety measures in a chemical laboratory
- Prepare comprehensive laboratory reports.

Diploma In Applied Biology
The aim of this course is designed to equip the trainee with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him/her work in any biological research institution and other relevant fields. The course is concerned with application of principles of applied biology in operation and management of research and regular biological laboratories.
On completion of training the trainee may be self employed or wage employed to perform the following duties:
- Operation and management of biological laboratories.
- Ensure quality assurance practice in biological laboratories.
- Maintain occupational health and environmental management standards.
- Utilize biological techniques skill for self employment.
- Participate in research projects.Use knowledge and skills acquired for further studies.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to;
- Apply principles of Applied Biology in research, manufacturing industries and regular biological laboratories for efficient operations and economic productions.
- Demonstrate safe working ethics
- Acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for self-reliance and further training
- Design, operate and maintain biological and research projects while considering economic and human factors.

Diploma In Teacher Education (Science & Humanities)
Entails training of students in education both humanities and science so as to equip the students with skills and knowledge to educate the society and improve the academic performance in both public and private institutions educating them about importance of education .the targeted group are students with passion goals to join teaching career the period of study is 3 years each year with a module.
Diploma In ICT
This course is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes which are responsive to the challenging needs in the computing industry. The course will allow the graduate to work in a salaried employment or self-employment.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to:
- Perform systems operations duties
- Perform system analysis, design and development duties
- Perform network and system support duties.

Diploma In Food Science & Technology
The aim of this course is to equip the trainee with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to work in the food industry. The course will enable the trainee to utilize the locally available materials and equipment to process specific food products.
In the course of training the trainee will acquire general knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to enable him/her to manage a food processing establishment, develop and market food products and go into self-employment which will contribute positively to the national economy.

This course is concerned with setting and laying out science laboratory apparatus and equipment, carrying out qualitative and quantitative laboratory investigations and proper response to any kind of hazard in the science laboratory

Diploma In Counselling: HIV Testing And Counselling In Community And Clinical Settings Option
This course is to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values which respond to their needs and other people’s mental processes through reflection and evaluation of self and others. This will allow the graduates to work in a salaried employment or be self-employed and be in a position to work with all in the society.
General Objectives of The Course
By the end of the course, the trainee should be able to;
- Acquire knowledge in counselling
- Integrate the different models and theories in counselling
- Demonstrate the ability to establish a therapeutic relationship
- Apply the knowledge and skills acquired for psychological counselling
- Appreciate issues within abnormal psychology
- Acquire workplace counselling skills

- Understand the epidemiology and impact of chronic illnesses in Kenya and globally.

Diploma In Entrepreneurial Agriculture
This course is designed to equip the trainee with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him/ her work in agricultural establishments and related industries. A graduate of this course will be able to work in salaried or self-employment. The course aims at imparting competences required to safely operate and effectively supervise entrepreneurial agriculture production process. The course is also intended to lay a foundation for further studies in agriculture.

The Diploma in Agriculture is developed to provide the trainee with knowledge and practical skills that will enable him\her engage in employment in Agricultural Enterprises.
The trainee will also be prepared for formal employment sector and be able to produce, process and market agricultural products in order to succeed in life.

- Maintain computer hardware and software
- Use programming skills to provide solutions to existing problems
