Rules and Regulations

General RULES AND REGULATIONS to be observed in the Library.

  1. Persons wishing to become library users must complete the registration form All which is obtained from the Circulation Librarian and must sign the declaration to abide by the Regulations.
  2. Users must ensure that the address given on the registration form is up-to-date.
  3. Certain materials may not be borrowed for use outside the Library.
  4. No book shall be taken out the Library until it has been officially issued.
  5. The user in whose name a book is issued shall be solely responsible for returning it.
  6. After a book has been in possession of a user for one week, it any be recalled to the Library.
  7. All users must ensure that books in their possession are returned to the library within three days of recall.
  8. Books which have already been borrowed by other readers may be reserved by filling a Book Reservation Form and available at the Circulation Desk. No reader should reserve or request for a book he already has. If the behavior is detected, borrowing privileges may be withdrawn.
  9. Library books may not be taken out of the country without the permission of the College Librarian.
  10. The replacement cost for a lost or damaged borrower’s tickets shall be Sh. 50.00.
  11. The loan period for students shall be two weeks, all non-teaching staff one month, teaching staff one semester. The loan for any book may also be reduced by the College Librarian depending on the demand for the book.
  12. The College Librarian may permit other persons to borrow two books for purpose of special study upon such conditions and for such period as may seem appropriate in each case. Application for this purpose should be made to the College Library.
  13. Links to essential websites to e-learning journals and library for access to on line publications, manuscripts and on line referenced materials shall be permitted
